    claire-fontaine

Founded in 2004 in Paris by Fulvia Carnevale and James Thornhill, Claire Fontaine takes its name from a famous brand of French stationary and revisits the codes of conceptual art in order to subvert or shatter them. Readymade artist, Claire Fontaine borrows from other artists to question the political importance of today’s art through images, neon lights, videos, sculptures or incisive texts. Claire Fontaine grows among the ruins of the “authorial” function, by experimenting with the protocols of collective productions, through subversions and by setting up various operations with the goal of distributing intellectual and private property.
